FGL Academy, Pilot Project

Galileo Galilei Technological Institute in Arzignano,9-21 March 2022

The FGL Academy "pilot project" was held from 9 to 21 of March, at the Galileo Galilei Technological Institute at Arzignano. A course of about 20 hours focused on analytical methods with an in-depth analysis about the chemical determination of formaldehyde content. The training course was divided into three phases: a first theoretical part (coordinated by Franca Nuti, R&D and Regulatory Aspects FGL International) dedicated to the topic of analytical methods. An application part (followed by tanning technicians Stefano Brea, Davide Vigolo and Fabio Priante) with the creation of leather items and the comparison between the application of traditional chemical products and products specifically studied to limit the level of formaldehyde (Zero Line by FGL International ). Finally, an analytical feedback was made (directed by Serena Matteoli, Head of the FGL Laboratory) with a practical test in the laboratory.

The goal of FGL Academy is to give a global information to people who study tanning chemistry, to make young people participate in real experiences in this sector, to prepare them with a critical eye for the work they are going to begin.
